Environmental Restoration
Thoughtful landscape solutions for dynamic commercial and mixed-use developments. We shape cohesive outdoor spaces that serve businesses, residents and the public.
Ecology-Led Site Design
We create landscapes that restore natural function, enhance habitat and support long-term ecological health.
Resilient Systems, Thoughtful Interventions
Our designs strengthen soil, water and vegetation systems while improving site stability and biodiversity.
Reliable Stewardship
We guide projects through assessment, design and implementation to ensure restoration goals are achieved with care.
Wetlands
140 Garner
Resulting from the realignment and enlargement of an existing wetland, the primary objective of this project was to ensure that restoration efforts would rehabilitate disturbed areas while maintaining—and where possible enhancing—the ecological integrity and functional performance of the wetland system. The design approach focused on working with natural hydrological processes to support stormwater management, improve water quality, and reinforce the wetland’s role as a resilient ecological feature within the surrounding landscape.
The project scope included the development of clearly defined wetland zones—such as open water, floating and submerged planting areas, meadow marsh, emergent edges, and forested swamp zones—each tailored to varying water depths, soil conditions, and ecological functions. Wetland-specific native plant species were carefully selected and arranged to support habitat diversity, stabilize soils, enhance filtration, and promote long-term ecological succession. Tree preservation and assessment measures were integrated throughout the design to protect existing vegetation, maintain canopy cover, and minimize impacts to established root systems, ensuring the restored wetland functions as a healthy, self-sustaining system over time.
Outfall Rehabilitation
Roxborough Outfall
Arising from the construction of a new stormwater outfall and associated channel modifications, this project focused on restoring areas impacted by construction while protecting the existing ecological character and function of the creek system. The design approach prioritized erosion control, bank stability, and flow management, integrating naturalized landscape strategies with engineered infrastructure to support safe stormwater discharge while maintaining downstream environmental health.
The scope of work included the preparation of a site-specific restoration and planting plan for the affected creek corridor, utilizing native shrub planting modules, riparian seed mixes, and soil treatments selected to suit site gradients, moisture conditions, and anticipated flow patterns. Planting design was carefully coordinated with features such as the outfall headwall, dissipation pool, armour stone, and flow deflectors to reinforce slope stabilization and promote long-term vegetation establishment. Native species were chosen to enhance habitat value, improve soil stability, and encourage natural regeneration, ensuring the restored creek corridor functions as a durable, resilient landscape over time.
Restorative Landscapes
We believe landscapes can do more than look beautiful—they can heal, protect, and perform. Through environmentally responsive design, we transform stormwater ponds and natural systems into resilient, living landscapes that manage water thoughtfully, restore ecological balance, and support surrounding communities. By working with natural processes, we create spaces that improve water quality, enhance habitat, and quietly strengthen the land over time.
